This 2-hour intimate experience provides a haven where music lovers can relax and engage with musicians while enjoying hors d’oeuvres, wine and dessert. This exceptional evening runs the 1st Thursday of every month with different musicians performing at various homes in Harlem.
The Strivers Row Society Ensemble is a group of musicians with a long history of performing together. Pete Drungle is an award-winning composer and pianist who has been described as an intrepid, adventurous improviser, possibly best exemplified by his legendary 24-hour continuous solo piano improvisation. Acoustic and electric bassist Calvin Jones was born in North Carolina. His recording resume numbers over forty CDs; touring and performing has taken Mr. Jones to forty countries and forty-five of the fifty states in the USA. Tony Lewis is a drummer/songwriter from the South Bronx, New York who has worked with a variety of stellar artists including Little Richard, Sting, Cyndi Lauper, Rakim, Sam Moore (Sam & Dave), Michael Hill's Blues Mob and Craig Harris. Stewart Soundz is a trombonist/composer who has performed with a veritable Who’s Who of progressive jazz’s most important figures. Upholding a tradition of using art as cultural facilitation to promote social change, his own projects display both a unique sense of concept and a total command of the sweeping expanse of musical expression.
